The GODFATHERS of WOKE?

It’s time to provide the real list.

Last night I just watched a typical left-vs.-right culture-war clip from Christian Zionist commentators Seth Gruber and Nick Freitas called, THE MEN WHO CREATED WOKE

It’s already got a quarter of 1 million views.

As a guy who has been involved in the men’s masculinity space, I have studied the history of LGBTQ, BLM, critical race theory —and so, I was curious to see the list of Woke Godfathers they would come up with.

In their reel, they actually landed on one man, calling him the “GODFATHER of WOKE.” The gay french intellectual, Michel Foucault.

Was he influential in the 70s? Sure.

Did he do damage to traditional American or Christian education? Yes.

Was he the Godfather of woke? — Hardly.

So I asked myself, “Why did they pick this guy alone”

When watching their full reel it became obvious: They picked Foucault because one of the only safe choices they have as part of institutional conservative MAGA media. You see, Foucault had an interest in revolutionary Iran and political Islam (He even traveled there and met with their leaders). Notice, The final line Nick Freitas states about IRAN in his propaganda reel is that “Foucault was traveling to Iran, cheering on the revolution” —Almost as if he (Foucault) was Muslim himself.

For clarity, here’s the basic overview of his involvement with Iran:

Foucault was fascinated that Iran’s revolution rejected the familiar Marxist model, mobilizing millions around Shiite Islam and Ayatollah Khomeini rather than class struggle. He traveled through Iran, met protesters and religious leaders, and later met Khomeini in exile, praising the movement’s “political spirituality” as a new form of resistance. But after Khomeini took power and the Islamic Republic turned increasingly authoritarian—executing opponents, suppressing dissent, and restricting women—Foucault condemned the abuses and stopped championing the revolution, though critics argue he never fully reckoned with his earlier enthusiasm.

You see, this whole red green alliance is something these dudes are incentivized to promote. When talking about “the origins of woke” they desperately want to remove the spotlight the off of an incredibly obvious yet inconvenient aspect of this entire discussion, and you will see what I mean below. But the 2nd grade version that probably best describes their agenda is : MUSLIM = Left | JEW = Good 😂

So, in order to serve them and you, I decided to brush up on my history and create a fairly comprehensive list of the True “Godfathers of woke” - with a brief description of their contribution, and yes, Foucault still makes the list.

So, let’s trace the intellectual genealogy of woke further back and forward, and we will see if Nick and Seth might have to adjust their premise a bit.
